Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)

PHTLS is a continuing education program recognized around the world as the leading course in emergency trauma care for the prehospital environment. Through global education, it is the mission of PHTLS to promote excellence in the management of trauma by all providers involved in carrying out prehospital care.

PHTLS courses emphasize a prehospital trauma care philosophy in which the specific needs required by the multi-system trauma patient are stressed and sometimes vary from traditional treatment modalities. The program improves trauma care in the participants’ area and decreases mortality by promoting critical thinking and utilizing the latest trauma science and ATLS guidelines.
